The Art of Skyscrapers

Alfred Stieglitz’s photographs of New York are characterized by skyscrapers as they began to tower over the buildings of the past. Stieglitz’s work was centered on this change with this transition stating, “ My New York is the New York of transition.” Stieglitz’s fascination with the Flat Iron building, in particular, would continue to inspire Stieglitz’s work, with him calling the building "the Parthenon of America".
