Howard Cook

Howard Cook’s work is characterized primarily of New York scenes. He creates sublime chiaroscuro etchings and woodcut prints of New York and its development and skyscrapers that define it. Cook’s work creates a very moody feel towards the looming skyscrapers as they begin to define the skyline of New York. Howard Cook's work during this period of the late 1920s to the early 1930s captures the economic disparity in America during the Great Depression.
