Louis Lozowick

Louis Lozowick’s works of New York are characterized by his geometrically formulated lithographs of urban cityscapes which captures Lozowick’s fascination with the city and its skyscrapers. Working during the 1930s and 1940s Lozowick continues to hold skyscrapers in a positive light despite the fall of capitalism due to the stock market crash. Lozowick's appreciation of skyscrapers disconnects them from their once capitalistic image and rather to an image of American power.
